The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has uncovered a case of impersonation in the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME), where a blind candidate hired another blind undergraduate student to sit the exam on their behalf.

JAMB Registrar, Prof. Ishaq Oloyede, revealed this during a press briefing, highlighting the board's commitment to supporting candidates with disabilities. Despite providing accommodations such as refunding registration fees, transportation, lodging, and feeding for candidates with disabilities, one candidate attempted to cheat by hiring an impersonator.

The 2025 UTME results were released, showing that over 1.5 million candidates scored below 200 out of 400 marks. The Minister of Education attributed the results to the government's efforts to curb exam malpractice.
