JUST IN 🔥🔥 FUOYE STUDENTS' UNION REBUTS NANS ALLEGATIONS AGAINST VC AND GOVERNING COUNCIL.

The Students Union Government of Federal University, Oye Ekiti (FUOYE), has dismissed allegations made by the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) President, Olusola Oladoja, against the institution's Governing Council and Vice Chancellor, Prof. Abayomi Fasina.

Background:

- NANS had petitioned the Minister of Education, Dr. Tunji Alausa, alleging cover-ups of official misconduct and other improprieties against FUOYE management and Governing Council.
- NANS urged the minister to remove the FUOYE VC and Governing Council Chairman.

FUOYE SUG's Response:

- The Students' Union described the NANS allegations as "misrepresentation of facts" and a deliberate attempt to undermine FUOYE's leadership and institutional integrity.
- FUOYE SUG exonerated Prof. Fasina of sexual harassment allegations, citing thorough investigations by the Nigeria Police Force and a Governing Council panel.
- The union also disputed NANS' claims regarding the promotion of Dr. Agbegbedia and the death of a student, Modupe, stating that comprehensive investigations found no evidence of administrative negligence.

Support for FUOYE Leadership:

- The Students' Union expressed confidence in Prof. Fasina's leadership, citing improvements in academic expansion, infrastructure development, staff welfare, and campus security.
- FUOYE SUG urged the Minister of Education to disregard the NANS petition and recognize the union as the authentic voice of the student body.

Call to Action:

- The union requested the minister to safeguard FUOYE from unwarranted political interference and media sensationalism aimed at undermining its leadership and institutional integrity.
