Esther Alabi, a student of Greensprings Secondary School in Lekki, has achieved remarkable success in the inaugural Spelling Bee in Nigeria (SPIN) competition. The competition, which drew 102 participants from across the country, concluded with a thrilling national final at the United States Consul General's residence in Ikoyi.
Alabi's exceptional vocabulary skills earned her the Vocabulary Award, and she secured an impressive fourth place overall in the highly competitive event. The competition tested students' knowledge of complex words from various languages, including Greek, Latin, French, and Spanish, as well as their understanding of etymology and word formation rules.
