President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has validated the establishment of the Federal University of Technology and Environmental Science in Iyin-ekiti, Ekiti state.

Senator Opeyemi Bamidele described the approval as a "landmark decision" that will shape Nigeria's future in agriculture, environmental science, and technological innovation.

The university is set to specialized in technology-driven education and research, supporting graduate with 21st century skulls in engineering, digital innovation, and applied sciences.

The Ekiti State Governor, Mr. Biodun Oyebanji, has also thanked the President for approving the university and also promised a maximum support for it's smooth takeoff.

The institution is eager to increase access to education, job opportunities and development in Iyin-ekiti and Ekiti State.

According to the Police Public Relations Officer, the arrests were made following allegations of disruption of public peace and unlawful assembly during protests related to the strike.
