The House of Representatives Committee on Basic Education and Examination Bodies has attributed the errors in the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination results to human negligence rather than technical glitches.

According to the Committee Chairman, Oboku Oforji, preliminary findings indicate that the errors were avoidable and resulted from JAMB's negligence. The Chairman commended JAMB's Registrar, Prof. Ishaq Oloyede, for accepting responsibility and apologizing to affected candidates and parents.

Despite the errors, the Committee acknowledged JAMB's consistent processes throughout the examination process and called for an independent and thorough investigation into the matter. The Committee also proposed reforms to prevent similar incidents in the future.
