The University of Lagos has denied reports of delaying National Education Loan Fund (NELFund) loan refunds to students who have paid their obligatory fees. According to Mrs. Adejoke Alaga-Ibraheem, Head of the Communication Unit, refunds are processed after reconciliation and verification with NELFund.

The university has received three tranches of NELFund loans, and beneficiaries of the first two batches have been successfully reimbursed. For the third batch, received in late April, the university is currently collating and reconciling students' payment details.

Alaga-Ibraheem assured students that refunds would be processed according to regulations and emphasized the university's commitment to transparency, accountability, and student-centered service delivery. She encouraged students to utilize the NELFund loan facility and seek assistance from the NELFund help desk at the Student Affairs Division for any complaints or concerns.
