JUST IN 🔥🔥 UNIVETSITY WORKERS PROTEST PROPOSED 50BN FUNDING FORMULA, CALLS FOR EQUITY.

BY Hola ⚡

The Joint Action Committee (JAC) of the Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities (SSANU) and the Non-Academic Staff Union of Educational and Associated Institutions (NASU) has rejected the proposed sharing formula for the N50 billion allocated to university-based unions.

According to the formula, 80% of the funds would go to the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), while the remaining 20% would be shared among SSANU, NASU, and the National Association of Academic Technologists (NAAT).

In a statement, the JAC described the allocation as "lopsided," "grossly unfair," and "provocative," warning that it could create industrial disharmony and exacerbate the teaching/non-teaching divide in Nigerian universities.

The unions expressed deep disappointment and outrage over the formula, calling for a more equitable distribution of the funds. They emphasized that the allocation would further accentuate existing dichotomies in the university system.
