JUST IN 🔥🔥YABATECH RECEIVED MERIT AWARD FOR THE MOST PRODUCING CHARTERED ACCOUNTANT.

Yaba College of Technology (YABATECH) has received the Corporate Merit Award from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN) for producing the most certified and chartered accountants in Nigeria. The award was given at ICAN's 2025 Award and Dinner Night in Lekki, Lagos State, on Saturday.

ICAN recognized YABATECH's significant contributions to the accounting profession, with the institution's products frequently qualifying as chartered accountants.
 Dr. Ibraheem Abdul, Rector of YABATECH, expressed gratitude for the recognition, promising to continue contributing to the development of the accounting profession.

Davidson Alaribe, ICAN President and YABATECH alumnus, stated that the award acknowledges YABATECH's huge contributions and aims to encourage the institution to do more. The event was attended by notable figures, including Oba George Majekodunmi Okufi, the first indigenous Rector of YABATECH and first Registrar/Chief Executive Officer of ICAN.

According to the Police Public Relations Officer, the arrests were made following allegations of disruption of public peace and unlawful assembly during protests related to the strike.
