A total of 71,110 pupils from public and private primary schools in Ondo State sat for the Common Entrance Examination, also known as the Placement Examination, on Saturday. The examination was conducted simultaneously in 280 designated centers across the state's 18 local government areas.

The Administrative Secretary in the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology, Akindele Ige, monitored the exercise and reported that it was conducted in a peaceful atmosphere. Ige commended the candidates for their orderly conduct and the examination management department for putting in place a superb arrangement.

The Common Entrance Examination, which is conducted annually by the Ministry, would lead to the award of Primary School Leaving Certificate for the candidates. It would also enable candidates who score the required marks to secure admission into their preferred secondary schools across the state's three senatorial districts.

Some students, who spoke after the examination, expressed great optimism about their performance. Ige also lauded parents and guardians for their patience and peaceful disposition during the exercise.

The administrative secretary praised the examination management department for a job well done, stating that there were no reports of late arrival of examination materials or shortages of examination officials at any of the designated centers.
