Adeleke University ABUAD has acquired 79 sophisticated research and science equipment items worth $298,104.71 (₦480.2 million) from Seeding Labs. The university's Director of Corporate Affairs, Tunde Olofintila, disclosed this in a press release, highlighting the institution's commitment to advancing research and innovation.

Notable Achievements

This latest acquisition brings the total value of research equipment at ABUAD to a significant amount. Previous grants include:

Prof. Pius Okiki's Ongoing Research Efforts

The university's Professor of Microbiology and Provost, College of Sciences, Prof. Pius Okiki, secured equipment worth $221,041.98 (₦356 million) in 2023. Additionally, Prof. Olusegun Adebayo AdeOluwa of the Department of Pharmacology and Therapeutics, College of Medicine and Health Sciences, received 53 research equipment items worth ₦427.4 million in July 2024.

Impact on Research and Training 🏋️‍♂️

The newly acquired equipment will enhance hands-on training and research for staff and students, particularly in Medicine and Health Sciences, Medical Laboratory Sciences, Nursing, and Engineering. The equipment will also reduce reliance on foreign analysis and boost the university's research capabilities.

ABUAD Founder, Aare Afe Babalola, praised the researchers for their efforts, highlighting the university's global recognition for quality teaching, research, and impact. He emphasized that the equipment will contribute to the development of new drugs and therapies, conserving foreign exchange and promoting self-sufficiency.
