The management of Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University (ATBU), Bauchi, has distanced itself from reports claiming it will issue illegal certificates to students of the Federal College of Animal Health and Production Technology (FCAHPT), Vom, Plateau State.

In a statement, the Director of Public Relations, Zailani Bappah, expressed concern over a publication implicating the university. Bappah clarified that while the college is an affiliate, the National Universities Commission (NUC) only approved undergraduate programs.
Bappah explained that the university's senate declined to approve postgraduate programs due to NUC's denial. He emphasized that ATBU has no intention of awarding illegal certificates, stressing the university's commitment to academic excellence.

Bappah lamented the publication's failure to verify information, stating, "ATBU will continue to pursue quality education and strive for world-class university status." The university assured stakeholders of its dedication to upholding high academic standards.
Additionally, the university's management has dissociated itself from a fake social media account allegedly spreading false information. ATBU urges the public to verify information through official channels.
