The Academic Staff Union of Universities at Rev. Fr. Moses Orshio Adasu University in Benue State has condemned the recent attack on the people of Yelwata in Guma LGA. The union is calling for immediate humanitarian support and effective resettlement programs to aid displaced persons.

The union expressed concern over the recurring loss of innocent lives, destruction of property, and growing insecurity in the state. They described the Yelwata tragedy as a painful blow to rural communities that requires urgent attention.
The union urged the nation's security agencies to act with urgency and fairness to prevent further bloodshed. They also called on the Federal Government to apprehend those responsible for the attacks and bring them to justice without delay.

The union emphasized the constitutional responsibility of governments to secure lives and property, especially in rural and vulnerable areas. They expressed concern that the government's inadequate response to security issues in the state poses risks to food security.
The union reaffirmed its commitment to justice, peace, and human dignity, standing in solidarity with the people of Benue State during these challenging times.
