The Delta State Government has announced a new date for the 2025 Basic Education Certificate Examination BECE in the state. According to a statement signed by the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education, Mr. Daniel Akiri, the exam will now commence on June 16 and conclude on June 20.

Reason for Postponement 👇🏾

The decision to postpone the exam was made in light of the Federal Government's declaration of public holidays on June 6 and June 9 to mark Eid-ul-Adha and Democracy Day celebrations on June 12. The state government apologized for any inconvenience this may cause.

The Basic Education Certificate Examination is a crucial assessment that determines students' readiness to advance to Senior Secondary School or pursue vocational education. Conducted by NECO at the federal level and individual state ministries of education, the exam evaluates students' knowledge in core subjects like English, Mathematics, and Basic Science.
