The National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) has granted full accreditation to all programmes presented by Kwara State Polytechnic during its recent accreditation and resource inspection visit. The institution has also received approval to commence several new National Diploma (ND) and Higher National Diploma (HND) programmes, set to launch in the 2025/2026 academic session.

According to a press statement signed by the Public Relations Officer, Halima Garba, the NBTE has approved a range of new programmes, including ND in Medical Imaging, Health Information Management, Industrial and Labour Relations, Law, and Chemical Engineering Technology, among others. The Board has also given the green light for HND programmes in Agribusiness Technology, Crop Production Technology, Journalism and Media Studies, Tourism Management Technology, Mechatronics Engineering, and Urban and Regional Planning, among others.

The Director of Polytechnic and Allied Programmes, Dr. Fatima Umar, expressed satisfaction with the existing facilities and curriculum offerings of the Polytechnic during a recent visit. She commended the proactive initiatives taken by the Management under the leadership of the Rector, Abdul-Jimoh Mohammed, emphasizing the quality and relevance of the newly introduced programmes in addressing current educational needs and labour market demands.

The Rector, Abdul-Jimoh Mohammed, acknowledged the thoroughness of the NBTE accreditation team and expressed gratitude for their constructive feedback. He assured that the Management is committed to addressing any identified areas for improvement and maintaining the highest educational standards.

Staff members of the Polytechnic have lauded the Management on this achievement, expressing optimism that the approval will drive further innovations in teaching and learning, ultimately contributing to the overall development of Technical and Vocational Education in Nigeria.
