The Lagos State University Students' Union (LASUSU) has marked its 35th anniversary, highlighting its achievements and reaffirming its commitment to student welfare. The union's President, Joldie Adebobola, announced that more impactful programs will be unveiled to assist students.
Adebobola highlighted the union's notable achievements, including the construction of sitting arenas, installation of digital screenboards, and solar-powered streetlights. 

The union has also implemented programs such as LASUSU Mindwave, a mental health awareness summit, and LASUSU Freshers' Week, a welcome campaign for new students.
The union leader mentioned significant victories, including the reduction of Nigeria University Games Association (NUGA) fees and cancellation of CBT fees for students. These achievements demonstrate the union's commitment to improving the student experience.

Adebobola revealed that several programs are in the pipeline, including Ability Unleashed, a life-changing inclusion program for students with disabilities, and LASUSU Trade Fair, which will support student entrepreneurs. The union is also setting up the LASUSU Brigade, a disciplined body that will provide ceremonial excellence, traffic control, and logistical support.

The anniversary celebration features a range of events, including an anniversary lecture, sports day, and Ojude LASU, which celebrates culture, identity, and diversity on campus. The union's commitment to student welfare and leadership is evident in its achievements and future plans.

According to the Police Public Relations Officer, the arrests were made following allegations of disruption of public peace and unlawful assembly during protests related to the strike. The Commissioner of Police stated that the command is committed to maintaining law and order and will ensure that all parties operate within the confines of the law.
