As part of the Democracy Day celebrations, President Bola Tinubu announced national honours for numerous Nigerians during his State of the Nation address at the National Assembly. The list of awardees includes notable figures such as the late Kudirat Abiola, who received a posthumous Commander of the Federal Republic title, and Nobel laureate Prof. Wole Soyinka, who was conferred the Grand Commander of the Order of the Niger.
Posthumous Honours 🫡
The President also paid tribute to Shehu Musa Yar'Adua, Ken Saro-Wiwa, and other members of the Ogoni Nine, conferring posthumous honours on them. Additionally, Tinubu granted them a presidential pardon, exercising his powers under the prerogative of mercy.

Presidential Pardon 🙌
