President Bola Tinubu has cancelled his scheduled nationwide broadcast to commemorate Nigeria's 26th Democracy Day anniversary. According to the Director of Information and Public Relations, Segun Imohiosen, the cancellation is due to the President's attendance at a joint session of the National Assembly.

New Plans 👌

Instead, President Tinubu will deliver his Democracy Day address directly from the National Assembly chambers. Other scheduled activities to mark the day will proceed as planned.

Revised Schedule 👈🏻

A notice sent to journalists revealed that the traditional military parade has been cancelled, and the President will participate in a special joint session of the National Assembly at 12 noon. The revised schedule includes:

👉🏾 No Democracy Day Parade

👉🏾 National Assembly Joint Session at 12 noon

👉🏾 Public Lecture on Democracy Day Celebration at the State House Conference Centre, Abuja, at 4 pm

Public Lecture 👨‍🏫

The theme of the public lecture is "Consolidating on the Gains of Nigeria's Democracy: Necessity of Enduring Reforms." The lecture will be covered exclusively by accredited State House correspondents.
