The Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) has issued a warning to students about a fake portal with fraudulent messages currently circulating online. According to a statement by the Director of Strategic Communications, Mrs. Oseyemi Oluwatuyi, the messages claim that President Bola Tinubu has directed the reopening of the NELFUND Student Loan portal, but this information is false.

The fake website, https://nelfund-student-loan-2025.po-rt-al.com/NELFUND/, is not affiliated with NELFUND. The official portal for NELFUND Student Loan Application is https://nelf.gov.ng

Oluwatuyi urged students, parents, and guardians to be cautious when clicking on links and submitting personal or financial information online. She assured that NELFUND is committed to transparency, safety, and fairness in the loan application process and would always make announcements through its verified platforms.

Students are advised to report any suspicious messages or websites to NELFUND via email at info@nelf.gov.ng  or through its official social media platforms:
