The Joint Admissions and Matriculations Board (JAMB) is set to resolve the admission issues of 4,845 individuals, including Jamiu Basola, a graduate of the Federal University of Technology (FUTA), who has been facing challenges registering for the National Youth Service Scheme (NYSC) due to discrepancies with his admission status. Despite FUTA confirming Basola's admission, JAMB had described it as "fake" whenever he tried to register for NYSC.
According to Hõlå INFO ONLINE 🛜🛜, JAMB is on the verge of clearing Basola and over 4,000 others with similar issues. The board has reviewed over 17,000 admission complaints nationwide and has cleared 6,908 candidates. Basola and 12 other candidates with similar issues will be required to effect corrections on the JAMB portal.
Basola had acknowledged failing to print his original JAMB result slip, which may have contributed to the issue. However, he maintains that his admission was genuine, and he completed his studies at FUTA. The university has also confirmed his admission.
JAMB introduced the Central Admissions Processing System (CAPS) in 2017 to simplify admission processes. Admissions offered outside of CAPS are considered undisclosed or illegal admissions. While JAMB previously allowed universities to regularize such admissions, those offered outside of CAPS since 2020 are considered illegal and cannot be regularized.
