The Commissioner for Tertiary Education in Lagos, Tolani Sule, has announced plans to establish a multi-campus university of medicine in Badagry. This initiative aims to boost development in the ancient town and create new opportunities for its residents. Speaking at the inauguration of the newly remodelled Badagry Town Hall, Mr. Sule highlighted the benefits of the university, including job creation and the upgrade of the local general hospital to a teaching hospital.

The commissioner emphasized that the university would bring numerous benefits to the town, including employment opportunities for residents. He also commended the outgoing chairman of the council, Olusegun Onilude, for his contributions to infrastructural development in Badagry.

Mr. Sule praised Mr. Onilude for his professionalism, diligence, and uprightness, noting that he stood out during his tenure as education secretary. He urged the people of Badagry to continue supporting the party and expressed confidence that God would reward Mr. Onilude for his service.
