ℹ️ BOOM 🔥🔥 NABTEB REVEALS LOW PASS RATE IN FTC ENTRANCE EXAMINATION.

The National Business and Technical Examinations Board (NABTEB) has released the results of the 2025 entrance examination into Federal Technical Colleges, with only 39% of candidates scoring 50% and above. According to Dr. Aminu Mohammed, Registrar and CEO of NABTEB, 9,389 out of 24,074 candidates passed the examination.

The results showed that 61% of candidates scored below 50%, while 1.31% scored 70% and above. Only eight candidates achieved the highest rank.

Mohammed urged stakeholders to ensure a fair and transparent selection process, admitting students who are best suited for the Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) programs.

The Minister of Education, Dr. Tunji Alausa, commended the renewed focus on TVET and encouraged administrators to implement government policies aimed at improving the lives of children and the nation.

The ministry has established two new federal technical colleges and plans to establish more, with the goal of having at least one college in each state and the Federal Capital Territory.

The announcement was made in a statement issued on Monday, September 28, 2026, by the Director of Press and Public Relations, Mrs. Boriowo Folasade, following the completion of the first phase of the national textbook ranking exercise. The Ministry disclosed that the first phase covers textbooks for Primary 1, Primary 4, Junior Secondary School 1 (JSS1) and Senior Secondary School 1 (SS1).
