The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) Joint Campus Council, Lagos State Axis, has condemned the continued probe of three University of Ibadan students involved in a protest against a fee hike in 2024.

The Students:

✓ Olamide Gbadegeshin:Institute of African Studies.

✓ Aduwo ayodele: History Department.

✓ Nice Linus: Another student facing disciplinary action.

Obstruction of the swearing-in ceremony for the 2023/2024 Newly Elected Executives of the Student union Alleged disrespect and gross misconduct during the protest NANS condemned the probe, calling it "vindictive political persecution" and "a blatant assault on students' unionism"
Immediate withdrawal of disciplinary charges and an end to administrative impunity.

NANS vowed not to fold its arms while its members are "sacrificed on the altar of fear, tyranny, and cowardice"
The students were apprehended during a protest against fee hike on May 13, 2024
Called on UI management not to victimize the students for exercising their human rights.

According to the Police Public Relations Officer, the arrests were made following allegations of disruption of public peace and unlawful assembly during protests related to the strike. The Commissioner of Police stated that the command is committed to maintaining law and order and will ensure that all parties operate within the confines of the law.
