The Tertiary Education Trust Fund has cautioned beneficiary institutions that failure to properly utilize allocated funds for projects will result in their delisting from the intervention program. This warning was issued by TETFund's Executive Secretary, Arc. Sonny Echono, during a strategic workshop in Abuja for directors of physical planning, academic planning, and ICT from beneficiary institutions.

Key Takeaways:🔑

👉 Delisting Policy: Institutions that fail to access, utilize, or retire funds according to guidelines or underperform in academic or operational benchmarks risk being delisted as TETFund beneficiaries.

👉 Workshop Objective: The workshop aims to build the capacity of key personnel in planning, implementing, and monitoring TETFund-supported projects, ensuring institutions align with the Fund's operational procedures.

TETFund's priorities include.:

👉 Academic Staff Training and Development: Focus on locally driven training programs due to the suspension of foreign training components under TSAS, citing rising costs and scholar abscondment.

👉 Research and Innovation: Increased funding for initiatives like the National Research Fund and Research and Innovation Fund to generate practical solutions to national problems.

TETFund's Initiatives:👇

👉 Energy Crisis: TETFund has allocated N70 billion to provide alternative power solutions, primarily solar energy, to Nigerian universities and other higher education institutions.

👉 Scholarship Program: The suspension of foreign scholarships for lecturers is part of TETFund's efforts to optimize resource utilization and focus on locally driven academic development programs.
