The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has directed all Nigerian tertiary institutions to conclude their 2025 admission processes within specified timelines in order to stabilise the academic calendar and ensure fairness in the allocation of admission slots.
According to a bulletin released by the Board on Monday, public universities are required to finalise admissions on or before October 31, 2025, while private universities must complete theirs by November 30, 2025. All other tertiary institutions, both public and private, are expected to conclude their admission processes by December 31, 2025.
The directives, JAMB noted, are in line with the schedule approved during the 2025 Policy Meeting chaired by the Honourable Minister of Education.
“Following the resolutions of the 2025 Policy Meeting, all tertiary institutions are to adhere strictly to the prescribed timelines,” JAMB stated. “Even where an institution is not ready to commence the new academic session, such an institution is expected to conduct its admissions and archive them.”
The Board further emphasised that all institutions conducting post-UTME screenings must complete the exercises promptly to align with the admission schedule.
JAMB urged all institutions to comply fully with the directive, stressing that all admission processes must be concluded within the stipulated deadlines.
