The Ondo State Police Command has arrested three suspected kidnappers in connection with the abduction of two staff members of Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba-Akoko (AAUA).

According to the Hõlã INFO, the victims were abducted by armed men on Monday, August 4, at their residence along Supare Akoko, in Akoko South West Local Government Area. They were subsequently released on Sunday, August 10, following the payment of an undisclosed ransom.

In a statement issued on Monday in Akure, the Command’s Public Relations Officer, DSP Olushola Ayanlade, confirmed the arrests.

He further disclosed that the Commissioner of Police, CP Adebowale Lawal, has directed that the suspects, along with all recovered exhibits, be transferred to the Anti-Kidnapping Squad for discreet and thorough investigation.

The Ondo State Police Command reiterated its commitment to combating criminal activities and ensuring the safety of all residents.
