University of Maiduguri 2025/2026 Pre-Admission Screening Exercise

(For UTME and Direct Entry Applicants)

Hello, prospective UNIMAID students!

The institution has released details for its Post-UTME/Direct Entry Screening Exercise for all applicants who applied through JAMB UTME or Direct Entry.

The screening will run from Monday, 11th August 2025 to Thursday, 11th September 2025 — exactly one month. Once the portal closes, late entries will not be accepted, and missing the deadline may cost you your admission chance for this session.

The school urges all eligible candidates to take the process seriously and complete their applications before the closing date, as no extensions will be granted.

Who Can Apply?

The screening is open to:

UTME candidates who selected the University of Maiduguri as their first choice in JAMB.

Direct Entry candidates who also made UNIMAID their first choice in JAMB.

Applicants who did not pick UNIMAID initially must change their first-choice institution to the University of Maiduguri through the JAMB portal before they can apply.

Eligibility Requirements (Step-by-Step)

1. Payment of Screening Fee

Pay a non-refundable fee of ₦2,000 through the official Remita payment platform.

Payments should only be made via the school’s official link to avoid scams.

2. First Choice in JAMB

Only candidates who made UNIMAID their first choice are eligible.

If you chose a different school, you must change it to UNIMAID via JAMB CAPS.

3. UTME Score

Minimum score: 150 in UTME.

Some programmes have higher cut-offs — check the UNIMAID website for your course-specific requirement.

4. Subject Combination

You must have selected the correct UTME subject combination for your intended course (check the 2025 JAMB Brochure).

5. Course Change Rules

You can only change to another programme if you meet that programme’s requirements.

6. O’Level Requirements

At least 5 credit passes in relevant subjects (including English Language and Mathematics) in not more than two sittings.

Accepted exams: WAEC, NECO, or NABTEB.

DE candidates need at least Lower Credit in ND/HND or Merit in NCE.

7. Acceptable Results

Download directly from WAEC/NECO/NABTEB websites or bring photocopies of original certificates for verification.

8. Uploading to JAMB CAPS

Ensure your O’Level results are uploaded to your JAMB CAPS profile before admission consideration.

How to Apply (Step-by-Step)

1. Visit the University Portal and click Post UTME Screening 2025.

2. Login with your JAMB Registration Number (username) and umstad@2025 (password).

3. Upload Passport Photograph (max 200KB) and set a new password.

4. Enter Contact Details (phone number and email) and generate your Remita payment invoice for the ₦2,000 fee.

5. Fill in Information — bio-data, O’Level results, and upload any required documents.

6. Submit and Print Acknowledgement Slip for record-keeping.

Important Reminders

Apply early to avoid last-minute technical issues.

Use only the official university website — beware of fraudsters.

Ensure your names match across all documents.

Regularly check your email for updates.

Keep all receipts and photocopies of documents for verification.

Why This Screening Matters

The screening process is how UNIMAID confirms:

Your UTME/DE registration is valid.

Your results meet the programme requirements.

You are eligible for admission consideration.
