The Governing Council of the Tai Solarin University of Education (TASUED) has announced the appointment of Professor Adekunle Adeogun as the Acting Vice-Chancellor of the university, effective November 4, 2025.

According to a statement issued by the university's Registrar, Oladapo Oke, Professor Adeogun's appointment was ratified at a special Council meeting held on Wednesday, October 22, 2025. The appointment is pending the appointment of a substantive Vice-Chancellor.

Professor Adeogun is a distinguished scholar and a Professor of Public Health Education with over two decades of lecturing experience. He has served as the Deputy Vice-Chancellor of the university and has a proven track record of academic excellence, with over 50 scholarly publications to his credit.

Professor Adeogun's academic qualifications include:

✌đŸ»National Certificate of Education (NCE), former Ogun State College of Education (1990)

✌đŸ»Bachelor's Degree in Education, University of Port Harcourt (1995)

✌đŸ»Master of Education (M.Ed.), Olabisi Onabanjo University (2003)

✌đŸ»Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.), University of Ibadan (2008)

The outgoing Vice-Chancellor, Professor Wole Banjo, and the Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of the Governing Council, Professor Adisa Bello, have congratulated Professor Adeogun on his new appointment, expressing confidence in his leadership and wishing him success in his new assignment.
