The University of Ilorin has announced the commissioning of several projects during its forthcoming 40th Convocation Ceremony. The projects, to be commissioned by the Visitor to the University, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, are a testament to the institution's commitment to enhancing academic infrastructure and fostering innovation.

According to the Vice Chancellor, Professor Wahab Egbewole, SAN, the projects to be commissioned include:

1. Faculty of Social Sciences Building

2. One-storey Block of Four NOS Lecture Halls for the Faculty of Social Sciences and Management Sciences

3. English Drama Studio, Faculty of Arts

4. Renovated Blocks 1 to 10

5. Renovated Department of Geography and Environmental Management Building

6. Remodelled and Developed UNILORIN Innovation Hub

7. Technical and Entrepreneurship Centre Road

These projects form part of the university's ongoing efforts to create a more conducive environment for learning and research, while also promoting innovation and entrepreneurship.

The commissioning of these projects is a significant milestone in the university's history, demonstrating its commitment to providing world-class facilities for its students and staff.

According to the Police Public Relations Officer, the arrests were made following allegations of disruption of public peace and unlawful assembly during protests related to the strike. The Commissioner of Police stated that the command is committed to maintaining law and order and will ensure that all parties operate within the confines of the law.
