The winner was announced during the 25th NECCI Public Relations roundtable held on October 23, 2025, at Eko Hotel and Suites, Victoria Island, Lagos. The event's theme was "The Ethics of Governance: Shaping Reputation through Public Relations."

The convener and founder of the NECCI PR Roundtable, Dr. Nkechi Ali-Balogun, stated that the essay writing contest is an initiative aimed at nurturing emerging talent in the public relations industry.

Keynote speaker, Dr. John Momoh, Chairman of Channels Media Group, emphasized that Nigeria's greatest challenge is not a lack of information but a deficit of credibility. He stressed that trust is the currency of leadership and that ethics is essential in rebuilding public confidence.
