The Federal University of Technology, Akure (FUTA) is proud to announce that 240 students have graduated with first-class honors from various departments of the university. This outstanding achievement is a testament to the institution's commitment to academic excellence and its position as one of Nigeria's foremost universities of technology.

A total of 2,747 students will be awarded first degrees in the forthcoming convocation ceremony, with the breakdown as follows:

🪙First-class: 240

🪙Second-class (upper division): 1,479

🪙Second-class (lower division): 912

🪙Third-class: 116

In addition, 867 postgraduate students will be awarded degrees, including 627 MTECH, 86 PGD, and 154 PhD.

The Vice Chancellor, Prof. Adenike Oladiji, attributed the outstanding performance of the first-class graduates to consistent effort, discipline, and the conducive learning environment provided by the university. She noted that FUTA continues to maintain its standard as one of Nigeria's foremost universities of technology, despite various challenges.

Prof. Oladiji highlighted FUTA's leadership in research and academic development, particularly in areas such as climate and space science, agriculture, engineering, and computing and digital expertise. She emphasized the institution's commitment to producing graduates who are relevant in the global academic arena.

The Vice Chancellor also expressed concern about the low disposition and orientation of some students to the Nigerian Education Loan Fund, noting that over 3,000 students had benefited from the scheme. She encouraged students to take advantage of the loan scheme, which is aimed at supporting students in need.

"The results we are celebrating today show that FUTA continues to maintain its standard as one of Nigeria's foremost universities of technology," Prof. Oladiji said.
