The Vice Chancellor of the University of Uyo, Prof. Nyaudoh, has denied any involvement in alleged admission fraud at the institution. He warned staff members against engaging in unwholesome practices, emphasizing that anyone found guilty will face consequences.

Prof. Nyaudoh made this statement during a live media chat organized by GIE Art Lead in partnership with the UNIUYO Printing Press, held at the 1,000-capacity TETFund Auditorium in Uyo. The event was themed “Professor Nyaudoh’s Administration: Fallacies or Fact”.

The university has recently faced reports of admission racketeering, with claims that places in courses such as Medicine, Pharmacy, and Law were being sold for amounts ranging from N300,000 to N1 million. Parents of prospective students alleged that agents, under the guise of approval from the Vice Chancellor, collected the money.

Responding to the allegations, Prof. Nyaudoh said, “I have never given anyone any instructions to sell admission, and God will vindicate me. But for anyone involved, I give them just two years to tell what they have been able to achieve with such money.”

The Vice Chancellor also highlighted UNIUYO’s academic achievements under his leadership, noting that the university is now ranked among the top 20 universities in Nigeria and 15th in research output.
