The Chancellor of Mountain Top University (MTU), Professor of Biotechnology, Dr. D.K Olukoya, has charged the 2025 graduands to live up to the standards of academic excellence, godly character, discipline, service, and purposeful leadership instilled in them by the institution.

In his convocation address, Dr. Olukoya emphasized that convocation marks the beginning of higher expectations from the graduands, saying, "Convocation is not merely the end of an academic programme. It's the beginning of higher demand on your life."

He urged the graduands to uphold key values, including:
- Maintaining integrity
- Being part of the solution
- Avoiding impatience
- Setting standards
- Using their certificate as a tool and their character as a crown

Dr. Olukoya encouraged the graduands to become solution-minded individuals, positively impacting Nigeria and beyond.

According to the Police Public Relations Officer, the arrests were made following allegations of disruption of public peace and unlawful assembly during protests related to the strike. The Commissioner of Police stated that the command is committed to maintaining law and order and will ensure that all parties operate within the confines of the law.
