The National Universities Commission (NUC) has approved 17 new undergraduate programmes for the University of Fortune, Igbotako, Ondo State, effective from the 2025/2026 academic session. The approved programmes span four faculties, with a total admission quota of 800 students.

The approved programmes include:👇🏻

- Faculty of Science and Computing: Information and Communication Technology, Computer Science, and Cyber Security

- Faculty of Law: LL.B. Law

- Faculty of Basic Medical and Allied Health Sciences: Public Health, Nursing Science, and B.Rad. Radiology

- Faculty of Social and Management Sciences: Accounting, Finance, Economics, International Relations, Criminology and Security Studies, Hospitality and Tourism Management, Project Management, Procurement Management, and Intelligence and Security Studies

The NUC has also requested the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) to take note of the approved programmes for student mobilisation. This approval marks a significant milestone for the University of Fortune, expanding access to quality tertiary education in Ondo State and beyond.

According to the Police Public Relations Officer, the arrests were made following allegations of disruption of public peace and unlawful assembly during protests related to the strike. The Commissioner of Police stated that the command is committed to maintaining law and order and will ensure that all parties operate within the confines of the law.
