The University of Ilorin (Unilorin) is pleased to announce that the matriculation ceremony for the 2025/2026 academic session will hold on Tuesday, 16th December 2025. The event is set to take place at the Multipurpose Hall, starting at 11:00 a.m.

Matriculating students are expected to be seated by 10:30 a.m. The ceremony formally welcomes new students into the university, upholding its core values of Probitas and Doctrina.

The University looks forward to welcoming the new students and wishes them success in their academic pursuits.

                        1 minutes read ⏱️ 9:45pm The Imo State Police Command has confirmed the arrest of several officials of the Academic Staff Union of Universities [ASUU], Imo State University [IMSU] Chapter, in connection with the ongoing strike action by the union. According to the Police Public Relations Officer, the arrests were made following allegations of disruption of public peace and unlawful assembly during protests related to the strike. The Commissioner of Police stated that the command is committed to maintaining law and order and will ensure that all parties operate within the confines of the law. ASUU-IMSU had embarked on strike to press home demands including payment of arrears, improved funding, and implementation of agreements with the state government.
