The Federal University of Agriculture and Technology, Okeho (FUNATO), has officially launched its first academic session, marking a significant milestone in Nigeria's educational sector. The institution is inviting qualified candidates to participate in its inaugural 2025/2026 Post-UTME online screening exercise.

According to Professor Olaniyi Babayemi, the pioneer Vice-Chancellor, "This admission exercise is a landmark step for Nigeria's educational sector, as we set out to build a science-based center of excellence specifically designed to blend agriculture with cutting-edge technology."

To be eligible, candidates must have selected FUNATO as their top choice and scored a minimum UTME score of 150, with five O'Level credits. The online registration is ongoing and will close on January 12, 2026, followed by the screening exercise from January 19 to 30, 2026.

Babayemi emphasized that FUNATO aims to produce graduates who are academically excellent, entrepreneurially driven, and technologically savvy, equipped to address 21st-century challenges.

- Computing & ICT: Computer Science, Software Engineering, Cyber Security.

- Engineering: Electrical & Electronics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Civil Engineering.

- Agriculture & Allied Programs: Animal Science, Fisheries & Aquaculture Management, Forestry & Wildlife Management

According to the Police Public Relations Officer, the arrests were made following allegations of disruption of public peace and unlawful assembly during protests related to the strike.
