The Lagos State University of Science and Technology (LASUSTECH) has partnered with the Bola Ahmed Tinubu (BAT) Ideological Group to establish the Bola Ahmed Tinubu Institute, a pioneering school of politics dedicated to fostering political leadership and excellence.

The institute, located at LASUSTECH, aims to promote good governance, civic engagement, and leadership development, honoring the legacy of Nigeria's former Head of State, Chief Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

LASUSTECH and the BAT Ideological Group will collaborate to design and deliver academic programs, research initiatives, and training workshops, enhancing the university's academic portfolio and contributing to national development.

The Bola Ahmed Tinubu Institute of Politics and Policies is launching at Lagos State University of Science and Technology (LASUSTECH) as a result of a partnership between LASUSTECH and the BAT Ideological Group. This institute aims to strengthen political education, groom future leaders, and serve as a national center for political training, leadership development, and governance research.

- Academic Programs: Diploma, Master's, and Doctoral levels.

- Professional Certifications: Fellowships and targeted ideological training.

- National Importance: First university-based political institution named after a sitting President

The institute is expected to commence academic and professional activities within two to three months, with a temporary facility already provided by LASUSTECH.

According to the Police Public Relations Officer, the arrests were made following allegations of disruption of public peace and unlawful assembly during protests related to the strike. The Commissioner of Police stated that the command is committed to maintaining law and order and will ensure that all parties operate within the confines of the law.
