Olabisi Onabanjo University (OOU), Ago-Iwoye, is set to confer degrees on 5,808 students, including 147 First Class degree holders, at its 35th Convocation Ceremonies scheduled to hold from January 22 to 31, 2026.

The convocation, themed "Repositioning Nigerian Universities as Innovation Hubs for Entrepreneurship and National Development," will feature a series of academic, social, religious, and cultural events. The ceremonies will be chaired by Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Ayodeji Johnson Agboola.

Highlights of the convocation include:👇🏻

- Press Conference: January 22, 11:00 am, University Senate Chamber.

- Health Walk: January 23, for staff and students.

- Convocation Service: January 25, 10:00 am, Chapel of Abundant Life.

- Cultural Day and Convocation Play: January 27.

- Degree Awards: January 29-30.

- Grand Finale: January 31, with conferment of postgraduate degrees and award of prizes

The Governor of Ogun State, His Excellency Prince Dapo Abiodun CON, will serve as the Special Guest of Honour. The convocation lecture will be delivered by Dr. 'Bosun Tijani, Honourable Minister of Communications, Innovation and Digital Economy.

According to the Police Public Relations Officer, the arrests were made following allegations of disruption of public peace and unlawful assembly during protests related to the strike. The Commissioner of Police stated that the command is committed to maintaining law and order and will ensure that all parties operate within the confines of the law.
