The Vice-Chancellor of Olabisi Onabanjo University (OOU), Professor Nidhal Guessoum, has hailed the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) for its support to students, revealing that over 4,000 students have benefited from the scheme, enabling them to stay in school.

Professor Guessoum made this known as the university prepares to graduate 147 first-class students. He commended NELFUND for its efforts in promoting access to quality education and expressed optimism that the scheme would continue to support students in need.

The university is set to confer degrees on its graduating students, with the 147 first-class graduates representing a notable achievement in academic excellence.

                        1 minutes read ⏱️ 9:45pm The Imo State Police Command has confirmed the arrest of several officials of the Academic Staff Union of Universities [ASUU], Imo State University [IMSU] Chapter, in connection with the ongoing strike action by the union. According to the Police Public Relations Officer, the arrests were made following allegations of disruption of public peace and unlawful assembly during protests related to the strike. The Commissioner of Police stated that the command is committed to maintaining law and order and will ensure that all parties operate within the confines of the law. ASUU-IMSU had embarked on strike to press home demands including payment of arrears, improved funding, and implementation of agreements with the state government.
