Federal Polytechnic Ayede marked a historic milestone today as it hosted its maiden convocation ceremony, celebrating the academic achievements of its first graduating set of 325 students.

The ceremony, attended by prominent government officials, traditional rulers, and academic leaders, signaled a new era for technical education in the region. 

The highlight of the event was a special commendation from President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, who praised the institution for its rapid growth and its unwavering commitment to the "Renewed Hope" agenda through vocational and technical training.

⚡A Historic First: This ceremony marks the very first time the institution has conferred National Diplomas (ND) since its establishment.

⚡Diverse Talent: The 325 graduands represent various departments, ranging from Engineering and Technology to Business and Management Sciences.

⚡Infrastructure Growth: The Rector, highlighted the school's progress in developing state-of-the-art laboratories and workshops to ensure students remain globally competitive.

The Rector expressed immense pride in the graduating class, noting that they are not just leaving with certificates, but with the practical skills necessary to become job creators rather than job seekers.

"Today is a testament to the hard work of our staff and the resilience of our students," the Rector remarked. "We are proving that Federal Polytechnic Ayede is a center of excellence where innovation meets tradition."

The ceremony concluded with the presentation of awards to the best-performing students and the formal commissioning of several new campus projects.

According to the Police Public Relations Officer, the arrests were made following allegations of disruption of public peace and unlawful assembly during protests related to the strike. The Commissioner of Police stated that the command is committed to maintaining law and order and will ensure that all parties operate within the confines of the law.
