The Federal Cooperative College (FCC), Eleyele, Ibadan, has formally inducted 403 new students into its academic community during a matriculation ceremony held at the institution's campus.

Provost Dr. Abdulganiyu Ibrahim, represented by Dean of the School of Applied Sciences, Dr. Onuyi Majebi, charged the students to uphold integrity, discipline, and responsibility throughout their stay.

He emphasized that the college's mission goes beyond preparing students for employment, but aims to groom future leaders, entrepreneurs, and positive contributors to society.

Dr. Ibrahim stressed the importance of academic excellence and strong moral values, warning that the college operates a zero-tolerance policy toward misconduct, including cultism, drug abuse, and indecent behaviour. Students were advised to follow procedures in resolving disputes and respect cultural and religious differences.

Students' Union President, Emmanuel Aluko, welcomed the fresh students and pledged the union's commitment to protecting their welfare, urging them to remain focused and maintain peaceful coexistence.

The administration reaffirmed its commitment to discipline, excellence, and character development, assuring a conducive learning environment for all students.

According to the Police Public Relations Officer, the arrests were made following allegations of disruption of public peace and unlawful assembly during protests related to the strike. The Commissioner of Police stated that the command is committed to maintaining law and order and will ensure that all parties operate within the confines of the law.
