The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has officially directed all 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) candidates to report any Computer-Based Test (CBT) centres demanding fees higher than the approved government rate.

In a statement released to clarify the cost of the upcoming exercise, the Board confirmed that the total registration fee remains N8,700. 

Despite various economic shifts, JAMB maintains that there has been no price increase for the 2026 examination cycle.

Breakdown of Official Fees To ensure transparency and protect candidates from extortion, the Board has provided a clear breakdown of the total N8,700 cost:👇🏻

☝🏻Reading Text: Included in the total package.
 
☝🏻CBT Centre Service Charge: Covers registration and mock/main examination services.

Zero Tolerance for Extortion
JAMB cautioned that any accredited centre found charging a kobo above the regulated amount is in direct violation of the Board's guidelines. Such actions undermine the integrity of the registration process and place an unnecessary financial burden on students and their families.
