The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has announced a revenue projection of N23.8 billion for 2026, representing a N4 billion increase from its 2025 target. This projection is part of JAMB's 2026 budget profile, which totals N30.6 billion.

According to Dr. Muftau Bello, a Director in the office of the Registrar, Professor Ishaq Oloyede, N6 billion of the projected revenue will be remitted to the Federal Government's federation account as operating surplus. JAMB also generated N18.5 billion as internally generated revenue (IGR) in 2025 and remitted N4 billion to the federation account.

JAMB's budget allocation for 2026 is ₦6,433,689,172, which is about 21.4% of the total allocation to WAEC, JAMB, and NECO. This amount covers personnel costs (₦6,363,689,172) and capital projects (₦70,000,000), with no allocation for overhead expenses.

Additionally, the Federal Government has proposed over ₦1.3 billion for the construction, furnishing, renovation, and equipment of JAMB Computer-Based Test (CBT) centres across Nigeria in the 2026 Appropriation Bill. This includes projects in Rivers, Lagos, Abia, Ondo, and Gombe states.

In preparation for the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME), JAMB has expanded its examination centres to 1,000 nationwide, up from fewer than 800 in 2025. This expansion aims to improve access and ease logistics for candidates.
