Caleb University, Imota, Lagos, has appointed Pastor Foluke Adeboye, wife of the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adeboye, as its new Chancellor.

This appointment was made on February 21, 2026, following her conferment with an honorary Doctor of Humanity (Honoris Causa) at the university's 15th convocation ceremony on February 18, 2026.

The Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Olalekan Asikhia, described the appointment as a "defining inflection point" in the university's evolution, aligning scholarship with spirituality. Pastor Adeboye's experience in faith-based leadership, education, and humanitarian work makes her a fitting choice for the role.

As Chancellor, she will preside over convocations, confer degrees, and serve as the ceremonial head of the institution, promoting the university's moral and academic vision.

According to the Police Public Relations Officer, the arrests were made following allegations of disruption of public peace and unlawful assembly during protests related to the strike.
