The Students' Union Government (SUG) of the Federal University Lokoja has issued a statement regarding the recent increase in transportation fares affecting movement to and from the university campus.

In a notice dated March 10, 2026, the union attributed the rise in transport fares to the recent increase in fuel prices across the country, impacting transport operators and leading to adjustments in transportation costs.

The SUG, led by President Joseph Adomusa Adopisa, is engaging with transport authorities and the university's Director of Transport to negotiate fair and affordable fares for students.

The union appeals to students to remain calm and cooperative while discussions are ongoing, prioritizing their welfare and well-being.
