The management of the University of Lagos (UNILAG) has reassured students and the university community that ongoing examinations will continue as scheduled. This follows reports that the UNILAG chapter of the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) had directed its members to suspend services over allegations of unpaid Consolidated Academic Teaching Allowances (CATA).

The university management stated that due process was not followed in making the declaration, but emphasized its commitment to staff and student welfare, and ongoing discussions with ASUU to resolve issues.

With semester examinations in progress, the management noted that disruptions could significantly affect students, particularly those preparing for SIWES, internships, and the Nigerian Law School.

Examinations scheduled for March 11, 2026, will proceed as planned, except for courses with prior notice from Deans or Heads of Department. New dates will be communicated for affected courses. All examinations will continue as scheduled from March 12, 2026.

Deans have been directed to ensure smooth conduct of examinations. The management appeals for calm and continuity of academic activities while discussions with ASUU continue.
