The Lagos State University (LASU) has announced the commencement of activities for the 2026/2027 admission exercise with the rollout of the Independent Indigene-ship Verification Exercise (IIVE) for prospective candidates of Lagos State origin.

In an internal memorandum from the Admissions Office, Directorate of Senate and Academic Affairs, the University stated that the exercise will begin on Monday, April 27, 2026, with a sensitization meeting to be attended by the Vice-Chancellor, members of the Independent Indigeneship Verification Committee (IIVC), and the Admissions Officer.

The memo, signed by the Principal Assistant Registrar, Admissions, A.J. Bamigboye, detailed the approved timetable for the verification process and outlined the roles of the IIVC in ensuring a credible and transparent admission exercise.

According to the schedule, online payment for registration and the verification process will run from Monday, April 27 to Friday, May 22, 2026. The phase will involve active collaboration between candidates, the IIVC, the Directorate of Information and Communication Technology (DICT), and the Admissions Office to provide technical support and promptly resolve issues.

The physical revalidation exercise for candidates to substantiate their indigene-ship claims will take place concurrently within the four-week period. The University also disclosed that revalidation of old clearance cases will be conducted simultaneously. The Committee will sit daily from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. throughout the exercise to address challenges and ensure seamless processing. 

LASU Management has directed the Chairman of the Independent Indigene-ship Verification Committee to ensure adequate preparations for a hitch-free exercise, emphasizing the need for effective coordination among all stakeholders involved.

Prospective candidates of Lagos State origin are advised to visit the University’s official website for detailed guidelines on registration, payment, and required documentation.
