The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board, JAMB, in partnership with Rite Foods Limited, has announced plans to reward seven outstanding Nigerian undergraduates with ₦5 million each.
The board disclosed on Tuesday that the award is part of the maiden edition of the JAMB Awards Ceremony, designed to recognise and celebrate undergraduates who have demonstrated exceptional academic excellence in Nigerian tertiary institutions.
According to JAMB, the initiative is aimed at motivating students to pursue scholarly distinction and to encourage a culture of hard work and merit across universities, polytechnics, and colleges of education nationwide.
The Registrar of JAMB, Prof. Is-haq Oloyede, said the collaboration with Rite Foods reflects the private sector’s commitment to supporting education and rewarding excellence. He noted that the ₦5 million cash reward per student is one of the highest individual undergraduate awards in the country.
JAMB added that details on the selection criteria, nomination process, and date for the awards ceremony will be communicated to institutions and the public in due course.
