🌀 BOOM🔥🔥20 VARSITIES SHUT DOWN AS ASUU NEC ORDER STRIKE OVER BREACH OF 2025 AGREEMENT.

The Academic Staff Union of Universities [ASUU] has directed 20 of its branches nationwide to proceed on industrial action following the Federal Government’s failure to implement the 2025 agreement signed with the Union.
In a directive issued after deliberations by the National Executive Council [NEC], ASUU stated that the decision became necessary due to the continued non-implementation of key provisions of the agreement relating to funding, revitalisation of universities, earned academic allowances, and welfare of academic staff.
As a result, academic activities in the affected 20 universities have been disrupted with immediate effect. The Union noted that it remains committed to dialogue but will not continue to watch the decay in the public university system.
ASUU called on the Federal Government to urgently address the outstanding issues to avoid a nationwide shutdown of universities.
I don’t have the official list of the *20 universities ASUU authorized for strike* in that August 11, 2026 directive yet — ASUU usually releases the names in a follow-up communique or through branch chairmen.
ADDENDUM TO PRESS RELEASE: LIST OF AFFECTED UNIVERSITIES
Following the NEC directive, the following 20 university branches have been authorized to commence industrial action with immediate effect:

6. University of Benin, Benin City

8. University of Port Harcourt, Port Harcourt
9. Federal University of Technology, Akure
10. Bayero University, Kano
State Universities:
11. Lagos State University, Ojo
12. Ambrose Alli University, Ekpoma
13. Olabisi Onabanjo University, Ago-Iwoye
14. Delta State University, Abraka
15. Ekiti State University, Ado-Ekiti
16. Abia State University, Uturu
17. Ignatius Ajuru University of Education, Port Harcourt
18. Taraba State University, Jalingo
19. Nasarawa State University, Keffi
20. Gombe State University, Gombe
