Thomas Adewumi University (TAU) proudly conferred degrees on 63 graduates, including 16 First Class honors recipients, during its 2nd Convocation Ceremony held at the Oko-Irese campus in Kwara State. The event marked a milestone in TAU’s mission to deliver globally competitive, innovation-driven education.

Among the graduates, 40 earned Second Class Upper Division and 7 earned Second Class Lower Division across four faculties and 11 academic programs. Vice-Chancellor Professor Francisca Onaolapo Oladipo highlighted the achievement as a testament to TAU’s focus on quality mentorship and training. “These results reflect the quality of training and mentorship provided at Thomas Adewumi University, and we are proud to contribute these innovators to both the Nigerian and global workforce, confident that they will make a meaningful impact,” she stated.

Professor Oladipo reaffirmed TAU’s commitment to strengthening quality education, innovation, and global competitiveness. She noted the university’s remarkable 142% increase in graduating students compared to its first convocation, with only 26 graduates in 2021. “TAU has transcended the realm of promise and entered the domain of proof. We have moved from potential to performance, from aspiration to achievement, from vision to velocity,” she declared.

The graduates have been equipped with microcredentials from prestigious institutions like MIT, Harvard, Stanford, and Yale, alongside certifications from Google, Microsoft, IBM, and ICAN, positioning them for success in a technology-driven world.

In his convocation lecture, Dr. Bayo Williams Olugbemi urged students to embrace job creation through crowdfunding and value-driven entrepreneurship: “Your future is not defined by what Nigeria gives you, but by what you create.”

National University Commission (NUC) Executive Secretary Professor Abdullahi Ribadu (represented by Esther I. Eyo, Esq.) commended TAU for advancing quality teaching, research, and community engagement, noting the university’s 100% Full Accreditation status in 2023.

Founder/Chancellor Dr. (Engineer) Johnson Adewumi encouraged graduates to be ambassadors of TAU, saying, “Your degree is not an end but a beginning. Go forth with courage, humility, and a sense of responsibility.”

Honorary doctorates were conferred on Engr. Oluseyi Afolabi and Pastor Oladokun Olatunde for their contributions to society.
