The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has delisted 23 Computer-Based Test (CBT) centres in Anambra, Delta, and Lagos States following technical deficiencies discovered during the 2026 Mock Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).

According to the Board, the affected centres failed to meet the minimum operational and technical standards required for the conduct of the UTME. The deficiencies identified include poor infrastructure, technical malfunctions, and breaches of examination protocol that compromised the integrity of the registration and testing process.

In addition to the delisting, JAMB has issued formal warnings to 88 other CBT centres nationwide. The Board emphasized that any centre not visible on its central monitoring system risks sanctions, including non-payment for services and possible invalidation of registration or examination activities.

“Any of the 989 accredited centres where registration or examination activities cannot be monitored in real time may have such activities declared invalid,” the Board stated. “Affected centres also risk not being paid for their services”.

JAMB reiterated that real-time monitoring from its control room is mandatory for all accredited centres. The Board noted that during recent exercises, over 150 centres were not visible from its control room, prompting enhanced remote monitoring and direct meetings with defaulting centres.

The Board assured candidates and stakeholders of its commitment to maintaining a credible examination process. Candidates are advised to verify the accreditation status of their chosen CBT centres via the official JAMB portal before proceeding with registration or examination.

JAMB further warned that centres which become unviewable from the monitoring desk during examinations will face immediate delisting.

About JAMB’s CBT Centre Oversight👇🏻

In recent years, JAMB has intensified reforms, including computer-based testing and centralised oversight systems, to curb malpractice and improve efficiency. The Board continues to blacklist centres and officials found engaging in malpractice, with six CBT officials recently blacklisted for life for blank registration offences. f1ac30c2

For the 2026 UTME, candidates are urged to avoid centres not listed as approved and to report any centre charging above the Board’s stipulated fees.
